While there are many challenging things happening in our world at this time, the applications and nominations for The Impact Awards are a powerful reminder of the many good people working to make a difference every single day.
This year we received a combined total of more than 400+ applications and nominations, and WOW – the diversity and calibre of submissions is exceptional.
On July 27th, 2019, Shay Wright became the inaugural winner of the Impact Award for Enterprise. 2019 has been a massive year. Globally, we’ve seen political unrest and the impacts of climate change with more extreme weather events. In Aotearoa New Zealand, the Christchurch attacks opened many people’s eyes to entrenched issues of discrimination and racism. He waka eke noa. We are all in this together.
Waking up to another fine day in Wellington and another day of Festival for the Future- doesn’t get much better than that! Straight to TSB Arena for the final day of the Festival. Three days of sunny weather in a row. Incredible. Another day of exploring the big issues of our time, inspiration, and building ideas and skills.
After an incredible opening ceremony on Friday night, the 1,200+ strong crowd arrived bright an early for the first full day of Festival for the Future. Wellington turned on the weather, and our friends at L'Affare turned on the fair trade organic coffee in full force.
Festival for the Future is now a Wellington staple, having returned firmly to the nation's capital, and once again being hosted at TSB Bank Arena on the Wellington waterfront- and now boasting more than 1,200 attendees.
